The Syrian biometric passports issued between 20/08/23 and 15/01/24 by the Syrian Arab Republic are not in accordance with the ICAO requirements as there is no signature field. However, they will be recognized if they bear the holder’s signature (when the person is older than 10 years old) approved by a Syrian authority (immigration authorities in Syria or Syrian Embassy/Consulate abroad).

The Syrian biometric passports issued after 15/01/24 are recognized but only if the passport bears the holder’s signature (when the person is older than 10 years old).

At the request of the Jordanian authorities, this Embassy is currently not sending in advance the names of the Syrian applicants wishing to enter Jordan to introduce their visa application.

The applicants will have to apply for a visa to enter Jordan by the regular procedure.
